William M. Hess, a resident of Martinsville, Ill., and for the last two months an employee in the P E Conrad restaurant in Decatur, died in St. Mary's hospital at 1:30 Wednesday morning, following a six days' illness from stomach trouble and complications. He was born in Ladoga, Ind. Dec. 25, 1868, and was sixty years of age. He and Miss Ora E. Conrad were married May 35, 1889, in Martinsvile. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Undine McFarland of Martinsville, and Miss Marguerite Hess at home, two sons, Wayne of Kokomo, Ind., and Clyde of Cicero, Ill., nine grandchildren and one brother, Thomas Hess of Martinsville. He was a member of the Martinsville Church of God, Lodge No. 508. M. W. A., Red Man lodge, Omeme Tribe, No. 307 in Martinsville, and the Pocahontas order in Marshall, Ill. The body was taken to the Monson funeral home. It will leave the chapel at 7 o'clock Thursday morning for Martinsville where funeral services will be conducted in the Church of God at 1:30 p.m.; in charge of Rev. Mr. Stout and Rev. Mr. Barnhart. Interment will be in Ridgelawn cemetery.
